Dear Pelican

This is just a quick email to let the interested of you know that Dan
completed his cycle ride last Wednesday. The trip from John O'Groats to
Lands End via his hockey club in Nottingham took 11 days, 1010 miles &
climbed about 12,000 ft in total. Dan's only really soreness was the sunburn
on the back of his legs! He really did enjoy it and is off on the Bank
Holiday Sunday to do a swift 87 miles through Yorkshire for another charity.
I think he has got the cycling bug!

Many thanks to those of you that have pledged money for their chosen
charities (Cancer Research & British Heart Foundation)

There is still time for any other kind souls to donate money to these causes
through Dan's efforts in the saddle as 'account' is open until 10 Oct.

Cheques made payable to; 'Bike Ride Account' and sent either to me or direct
to Dan.

The team will be releasing a video of the trip which includes a 'diary' of
the trip and footage of them zooming down the mountains! I don't think it
will go on sale!!!!!

Dan says he is looking forward to seeing some of his old Pelican mates on
the 10 Sep when the 1sts travel to Beeston for a warm up match.
