the

Bob,
A flexnet-node or a netrom-node is not the same as a cluster-node.
If you enter your cluster as a node in the flexnet-node, then the flexnet
node thinks it has to setup a flexnet-network-link to it. But your cluster
is just a ax25 client and does not understand the flexnet routing protocol.

If you want your cluster "known" in the flexnet-digi list, you have to run a
flexnet digi yourself and have the application "cluster" reachable via this
digi.
But probably you could do this also via the flexnet-digi which is now
linking with you.

Maybe it is possible to enter your cluster with a fixed downlink path in
that digipeater.
I am not a flexnet expert, better ask the sysop of this digi to help you,
but basically you should have your cluster working as a normal ax25 user
from the point of view of the digipeater.
