Thanks Ian,

  With the radio & TNC on and idle, I do not see the Xmit led light.  Using
other cluster programs, I could connect to our local cluster (before it was
shut down) without a problem.  I get the same problem even if the radio is
off.

Also a lot of problems are caused by squelch. If you can use the DCD
software control in the TNC of make sure the squelch is set so the rx led is
out with no signal.

It should work fine.
