[Dxspider-support] kissattach

I have recently decided to go down the Linux road having run spider under
win2k for some time
and have run in to problems with the ax25 end of things.
kernel compiled ok and everything installed ok but when I issue the
kissattach command the  system return the following error  kissattach:open
:input/output error,
nrattach works fine, The tnc is kiss mode and attached
 anyone any ideas
