[Dxspider-support] Telnet connections - addendum

I'm not sure, but I don't think my other messages regarding telnet 
connections (in respose to Dirk) made it onto the list.  I guess I broke 
that too.  ;-)

To answer Dirk's question why my choice of ports, it's a long story but the 
bottom line is that I don't want to shake up the troops.  I tried closing 
6904 a year ago and found that was not accepted well.  It's going to be 
tough enough getting people to change from a hardcoded IP address to 
cluster.dx-central.com, let alone get them to configure a different port 
(which some software is not able to do).

I was just made aware today that DX4Win is not able to "negotiate" a valid 
callsign on port 23 either.

Dirk, I'll be happy to work with you on this if needed.  Sorry, I'm not a C 
coder, but can help with testing if need be.  My vote is not to worry about 
23 starting a shell connection, but to make it compatible with Spider.  But 
that's just one man's opinion...
