DB_File Missing Problem on Mandrake 9.0 Install, Too...Same Fix?Mike,

I am using Mandrake 9.0 and didn't see the same problem you have described
I am using Perl v5.8.0 and Data-Dumper-2.101 that came with the Mandrake 9.0
distribution. I have been using Mandrake 9.0 on my N6WS-6 node, and I
didn't see the problem. I forgot to mention, I'm running DXSpider v1.51
build 57.16. The install was made on Nov 1, 2002, when the v9.0 became
available here. I know this doesn't address your specific problem, but I
just wanted to let you know there is hope that it will run on your Linux
distribution.

Subject: [Dxspider-support] DB_File Missing Problem on Mandrake 9.0 Install,
Too...Same Fix?

Hi,

I am trying to get my system installed on a mandrake 9.0 version of Linux,
running with perl 5.8.0. I am getting the same problem relating to a missing
DB_File.pm file when I try to run the ./create_sysop.pl script. Can I assume
that my solution is the same as shown in this email thread => do a force
install of the Data::Dumper module, using the syntax shown,

perl -MCPAN -e shell force install Data::Dumper

I DID not try to install this on the initial stages, because it was not
found at the link referenced in the installation page. Are there more steps
after force install, or does this completely and correctly install the
module?

Thanks,

Mike Lewis

This can be solved by using the CPAN installation method as described
several times by Dirk and Ian in their manuals.

The only thing that is different is that you have to use the force
install command, like:

perl -MCPAN -e shell

force install Data::Dumper

The problem is that Data::Dumper refuses to pass one (innocent) test.
With the force option Data::Dumper will be installed anyway, and has no
negative influence on the functioning of Spider.
