Greetings all,
You are all probably aware that the cluster network is extremely
fragmented and looped. There are lots of reasons for this, including
types of software and passive links etc.
There have been several mails on the Spider reflector about this problem
over the last few days and it seemed like a good idea to start an open
forum in real time to discuss the problems and potential solutions.
To this end we will be opening an IRC channel (chatroom) specifically to
discuss these problems and look at options to resolve them. Dirk will
also be there to discuss how he sees the problems and what he proposes
to do to fix it.
I think this is an excellent opportunity to start a discussion and share
information and education on the cluster network.

The IRC channel will be open tonight from 19:00Z and you can connect in
several ways.

If you have an IRC client like XChat, DIRC or VIRC then connect to
irc.pa4ab.net port 6667 or 131.155.192.179 port 6667 and type /join
#spider to join in. Please use your callsign as your nick.

If you do not use IRC and wish to join, you can telnet to
131.155.192.179 and login with your callsign. Then type IRC and once
connected type /join #spider to join the channel. If you wish to come
from the Amprnet then the IP address is 44.137.24.19.

We hope to see you there tonight.
Ian
