[Dxspider-support] AX25 Connects

Simon,

All those * values can be changed if required. They all perform different
functions. Even the "old" ax25 help files ( Howto's ) give idea's about the
values you can use. Not specifically but it tells you roughly what item does
what. The problem I found , after running BPQ software for many years , was
in identifying the names of the timers and comparing them with BPQ. The N2
figure can be quite low. I use a setting for 1 for users and 3 for nodes.

It pays also to monitor at times , the node software ( telnet in and type
NL ) to watch the affects of changing * values on netrom links.

Don't forget that * values can be set almost for individual stations by
using the parameters command. The parameters command ( at the start of line
followed by your desired * values ) only affects the callsigns below the
"parameters line ". Insert a different parameters line with new values which
will then affect the callsigns designated below THAT line IE

parameters 5 5 5 5 5 5 -
G3??? * * * * * * -
parameters 8 8 8 8 8 8 -
g3&&& * * * * * * -

But like I said , this is all in the ax25 howto.

- Regards Colin (G3ORH)
