In sendmail.cf on your system (assuming you are using sendmail) look for 
the following line.

This is the way it should look if you are configured to deliver mail 
direct to the destination host.
You need to change it to your isp's inbound mail servers address so that 
all of your outbound mail goes through them.

Lets say that your isp's inbound mail server's name is isp.mail.com    
you would make the line read as follows....

-------------------------------------------------------
# "Smart" relay host (may be null)
DSisp.mail.com
----------------------------------------------------------
Reboot the system and test. It should work then.
