I'm with you, Charlie. All of our users would love to have their filters
applied to sh/dx.

Discussion you want, well here's my opinion.
Sysops should really ask themselves whether they need to see 600-700 nodes
and 3000+ users to run an effective node. At one point a few years ago I
ran "wide open" until I looked at the bandwidth and CPU cycles being
consumed to process "largely irrelevant, useless" data. Does having all this
user data on a world wide basis change how how the cluster/nodes are used?
Does it cut down on the "ann/full" messages?
Do people used directed talk messages? I believe the answers are no. If
sysops spent some time setting up regional groups of nodes the problem would
probably end up being largely non-existant. I work to ensure redundant
sources of spots, expecially during contest periods.
Beyond the spots, I believe, is largely not worth the effort!

ps - I've had more requests recently to have a user's filters applied when
he does sh/dx, that to know where G1TLH is connected on the cluster.
