[Dxspider-support] starting the console.pl automatically

Hello All,
I am upgrading a PC for a local DX Cluster, and everything went smootly
thanks to the good documentation.
As one of the final steps, some file are changed to make the cluster startup
after a reboot.
Since we're running slackware we included the following into /etc/inittab :
DX1:23:respawn:/bin/su - sysop -c "/usr/bin/perl -w /spider/perl/cluster.pl"
>/dev/tty7
This is all working fine, the cluster starts nicely.
Next to that, a question was raised by the sysop, if the 'console.pl' also
could be started automatically, preferably on tty1. I tried some options
were the below command would make the most sense to me, but apparantly, the
console does not seem to be startable from /etc/inittab :
DX2:23:once:sleep 30s;/bin/su - sysop -c "/usr/bin/perl -w
/spider/perl/console.pl" >/dev/tty8 </dev/tty8
After a reboot, i see in the process-list that the 'sleep' is started, but
after 30 seconds, no console is started.
This sleep is incorporated to give the cluster some time to start, before
starting the console.
If anyone has an idea or an solution that would be most welcome !
