A telnet client should be installed by default when you installed your
Linux distribution. It is an essential part of networking, not part of
ax.25. You don't need a telnet server, since telnetting to the DX
spider port will start client.pl. This should work without any
reference to ax.25 at all. For a radio connection, normally one uses
the ax25 module and ax25d.conf, but I think this will work with TNOS as
I described.
