[Dxspider-support] question about "ping"

And just to confirm my understanding, these "pings" are performed within
spider as PC51 exchanges
and not via standard ICMP ping?  

And this is true irrespective of type of node partner? (Spider, AK1A, ?)

Am asking because of possible  firewall implications
