[Dxspider-support] Error in data/prefix_data.pl

Jim's correct regarding the use of create_prefix.pl. However, be aware
that you will lose this change with your next Spider s/w update IF Dirk
does not incorporate the change into the baseline.

I think a better way to make this change is to create a subdirectory
named /spider/local_data. Temporarily save your original prefix_data.pl
to some other name. Then run perl create_prefix.pl after making the
wpxloc.raw change. Put the resultant prefix_data.pl into the newly
created local_data directory. Then reverse the temporary name change to
your original prefix_data.pl file.

This now leaves your original prefix_data.pl file in /spider/data and
the newly created prefix_data.pl file in /spider/local_data.

When DXSpider starts, it will read the file from spider/local_data.

On your next Spider s/w update, if Dirk's made the change, then you're
no worse off and you'll have a new prefix_data.pl file from him. AT
that point, you can delete the /spider/local_data directory. If he has
not made the change, you'll still have your prefix_data.pl file.

I've used this technique for several years now since I make my own
custom prefix_data.pl file. The technique works well and speaks well of
one of subtle and good features of Dirk's design.

BTW, you can use the same approach with something like local_cmd/show if
you're really into writing your own custom s/w.
