[Dxspider-support] First impressions

Well, it could be a lot worse. However, there are a number of things
that are apparent.

1. There are nodes out there that have extremely flaky node connections.
2. Further, a number of nodes have far too many node connections.
3. Points 1 and 2 are related.

The result of this is that there are far (far) too many config (C) PC92s
going out. I will deal with this tomorrow when I am more awake and less
full of dry martinis (had to try a number of different recipes, the best
of which will be served at a showing of Casino Royale in local village
hall tomorrow). It will mean a longer wait for full config records but
it will drastically reduce the bandwidth currently being consumed.

Whatever I do, in this brave new world of seeing the network as it
really is, it is not going to be helped with flaky links going up and
down like a yoyo. Please, PLEASE, will you look at the way people are
connecting to you (or vice versa) and stop the links that are not stable.

This PARTICULARLY applies if you are running an Italian "supernode" with
several 10's of nodes connecting to you. You know who you are. The
necessity of having so many links has just gone away. Please consider
(very rapidly) splitting the nodes up into groups and connecting those
groups together.

Also, I think that people running RF links should use set/isolate or
consider forcing the use of "normal" filtered routing protocol over it.

Dirk
