I ran my node wireless for a while without any issues like that, but  
did notice some issues newtorking the Directv receiver in the  
bedroom.  It turned out to be a pretty poor path going through a  
couple of exterior walls which have foil-backed insulation.  I  
replaced the wireless with HomePlug powerline ethernet (which is ham- 
friendly) and that works a lot better.  I also now use that for the  
connection to my node.  About a year ago I switched from DSL to  
Clearwire Wi-Max for my internet connection and had to locate the  
modem where it looks through a window instead of the wall itself.
