Thing is, there are a large number of people who would rather manage as best 
they can and live with the consequences than have "net nanny" decide what is 
good for them to see.

You have heard from multiple folk that there are very valid reasons why what 
you do is "wrong". You don't agree. That's fine. Let's agree to differ and 
move on.
