[Dxspider-support] Cluster Abuse and IP Addresses

Dirk, et al

I seem to recall years ago having an issue with this file. When I had a system failure, I was unable to regenerate the
registered user of the system on a Win XP system. I think that was the beginning for me not instituting the
registration-required system.

Is there a special way to re-install the user_asc file? Drag and drop perhaps or not? I thought there was a command to
reinstall the file but it never worked for me. I seem to recollect that at some point.

In the 'user_asc' file. It is up to the sysop to back these up somewhere
sensible.

It is a user concept. Nodes have to explicitly allowed to connect as
nodes (these days) with a set/spider or whatever. This is, in effect,
"registering" a node. I also recommend one forces nodes that connect to
use a password.
