I would suggest that the issue of self spotting be solved by enhancements to
the individual filtering options in each dx node. Thus each station can
tailor what he/she sees or does not see on an individual basis. I don't
think adding a lot of extra code to the spider program would  for a blanket
banning of self spots would be a good idea. How hard can it be to enhance
the filtering portion of the node to accomplish this?  The result would be
that there would be no blanket banning of self-spots, which do indeed have
their place. This would leave it to the individual to tailor what they
desire to see without trashing the node for everyone else. Just my two cents
worth.  DX node authors?
