Seems like the easiest way to perform what you need.

Besides, Debian Stretch is more than a little bit different
than Debian Wheezy or even Debian Jessie.

I have DXSpider running on my server Debian-8.8.0 quite happily

    DXSpider     (44.165.2.2) (7300) 2LCLU:SP2L-3

together with web interface
