[Dxspider-support] [Trouble Ticket #845] DXSpider RTTY Spots

Just posted this on N1M forum.....as they are pissing me off.

I started this thread as I was trying to be helpful. I was one of the very early adopters of N1MM right from the start.

If some would actually take a look at the DXSpider re-formatted spots one would see just how useful the data written to the comments field actually is and is not available in other cluster "products".

If the N1MM Development team were to actually make the small change so that comments starting with RTT were identified as RTTY spots rather than looking for the 4 characters. The change would make no difference whatsoever to others enjoyment of the program. The author of DXspider truncated the mode to 3 characters to leave the maximum space available for other data in the spot comments field.

Tom....remember me? Pretty please :-)

Hi all,

This happens also because a very large number of spider sysops hasn't updated their nodes...

An even more common sense solution is to not use a DXSpider cluster for a RTTY contest.

I'm sorry, but every other cluster product reports RTTY as RTTY.

But as I said before Mike.... The RTT spots will not feature in the Available Q's and multipliers window in N1MM.

The latest reply on the N1MM forum is not useful!!!!

"You folks really should take this up with the DXSpider folks. It's not N1MM's fault that their software is misreporting RTTY spots as RTT.

Meanwhile, there are other excellent clusters you can use that are not DXSpider.

Great!!! They just don't understand Dirks clever reformatting of the spots.

There is an easy workaround. With Band/modes set to "All Modes" in the N1MM telnet window, the bandmap is populating with RTTY skimmer spots, no problem.
At the cluster I have "set/skimmer rtty" set.
At the moment I am only seeing RTTY spots in the bandmap.
