This is all you need on a modern perl (changing the dns name and port as 
you need. Note: you *can* use IP addresses if you really need to - but 
it is NOT recommended)

The 'client' line is a throwback to some necessities in very early 
versions of the code. Don't use it. It almost certainly WON'T do what 
you want.
