[Dxspider-support] The results are in for today (so far)

You can't miss DXProt.pm, it won't work for you.
You can make sure that in /spider/local you don't have a DXProt.pm, if you do, delete it and restart the node.
It is very strange what is happening to you.

Kin,
  Thank you for your reply. I agree there is something wrong with my node configuration but I don't know what at this point. I'll keep looking into it. Somewhere I'm missing the code that includes the DXProt package. I'll start by going through the git repository and see if it is being overlooked by some other configuration I've done.

  I also understand you don't have all of the answers. I really do appreciate all the work you do to improve the software.

 Thanks again for everything you and Dirk (and others?) do to keep this software working.

I'm not the right person to answer you, but as far as I know, DXProt.pm contains the variable $pc92_ad_enabled, and does not depend on hops.
sh/var $DXProt::pc92_ad_enabled should give you the actual value, and
set/var $DXProt::pc92_ad_enabled = 1 would set it to 1 without needing to hop_table.pl
There's something wrong with your node.

PS
Can't do everything. This is a hobby and help is needed.
A lot of queries, data analysis, testing, ...

Hi Kin,
Without hop_table, I could not 'set/var $DXProt::pc92_ad_enabled'. It complained:

      Global symbol "$DXProt" requires explicit package name (did you forget to declare "my $DXProt"?)

How else does this get $DXProt get initialized?

The only place this variable is mentioned is in relation to hop_table in the txt/adminmanual_en.txt

This goes directly back to my request for a clear set of instructions for setting up and securing the dx spider platform correctly.

Hi Kelly,

I don't understand why you use hop_table.pl. Do you want to change the default values of the hops?
I have never had it.

Good morning Kin and others....

I fear I have missed something important when configuring my dxspider.

I did not have any hop_table.pl in place. I copied in the default and restarted my cluster. I can now do the set/var as described below.

Are there any settings I should add to the default hop_table?

What else am I missing? This was a pretty big OMFG on my part.

As it stands, I have made sure I handle PC9X traffic.

Thanks, and 73 de Kelly

I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to make sure they execute
the following commands:

set/var $DXProt::pc92_ad_enabled = 1
set/var $DXProt::pc92c_ipaddr_enable = 1

This enables the transmission of connection and disconnection information
for nodes and users, which is essential in tackling issues related to bad
spots and impersonations.
