Global IPv6 doesn't masquerade, so any IPv6 subnet from your ISP should 
work. HOWEVER, if you have your network set up with local IPv6 and no 
global (fe80::) then it's a problem. You shouldn't use local IPv6 for 
spider in this case.

You should be able to specify the entire local IPv4 subnet/netmask like 
192.168.1.0/24 somehow in perl. BUT another case is where I have an 
incoming VPN connection that gets a different subnet than the main one.

No matter what, there will be some problems with spider behind a NAT 
firewall.
