Dear Pelican

Just an update to those of you who have shown an interest in Dan's progress.

Tuesday was a lovely ride down from Fort William via Loch Lomond to Paisley
some 108 miles! But felt OK.

Wednesday was a 'rest' day as he only! cycled 86 miles (only 5 hours) from
Paisley to Dumfries. Dan managed to reach 38 mph at one point but without
his big ring!! (lost top gear - fixed in the evening) At Paisley they found
civilisation and ate at Pizza Hut!

Thursday was a bit of long day in the saddle, about 10 hours as he cycled
124 miles from Dumfries out of Scotland and into England via Penrith &
Kendal to Skipton in Yorkshire.

So ended Day 5 which is half way in days and mileage, they have so far
cycled 530 miles!!

Today they head into Nottingham from Skipton for a small reception at
Beeston HC with a small drink as they have to get up and cycle tomorrow!

They are still on course to finish on Wednesday at Lands End where they will
drive back up to Newquay for an overnight stop to celebrate (if they have
any energy left!).

Cancer Research & the British Heart Foundation. If more of you wish to offer
contributions to the cause on behalf of Dan please let me know.
