[Dxspider-support] DRSI configuration

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if the DRSI card configuration would be any different with
Spider vs CLX (I know, bad word), but since it is a kernel level config (or
a module load), I would think there shouldn't be much difference.

I currently have a dual port DRSI card (PCPA II - I think) running with
kernel 2.2.19. I have not been a fan of the 2.4 kernels so far, so I opted
to compile under the 2.2.x version. When I compiled the kernel, these are
the options I chose under Ham Radio Support:

AX25 L2 Support
AX25 DAMA Slave support (probably not needed)
Serial port KISS (not not be needed depending on your config)
Z8530 SCC Driver (no other options under this option were chosen)

Those were the only pieced I compiled. I personally prefer to recompile
the kernel with the pieces I need instead of trying to load them as
modules. The box usually runs more stable that way.

I have Spider installed on another box as I am working on a CLX -> Spider
migration, but simply have not had the time to really dig in to Spider
yet. However, as far as making the DRSI card run under Linux, I didn't
have that many problems. The trickiest part was setting the IRQ/IO of the
DRSI card and making sure the scc.config file matched what the actual
hardware was set to. I found if you have any hardware IRQ/IO conflicts,
the DRSI card will not initialize.

If anyone needs a copy of my config/startup files, I'll be happy to send it
along. BTW, I only have one side of the dual card running. I simply
didn't need the other half at this time.
