[Dxspider-support] Help Needed: New install on WinXP

And you did the "copy c:\spider\perl\DXVars.pm.issue 
c:\spider\local\DXVars.pm" and then edit DXVars.pm and change all the 
variables the Installation Manual talked about *before* you ran "perl 
create_sysop.pl"?

If you did all the above, then no, I can't think of anything else.  I would 
use the WinXP "Add or Remove Programs" and uninstall Perl.  Then go into 
C:\Program Files and delete the entire Perl directory and then reinstall 
Perl.

I have done six different installs on Win 98 or WinXP using Perl 5.6.x or 
5.8.x and so far they have all gone fine using the steps I gave you and then 
following all the rest of the instructions in the Installation Manual.
