I can't see any reason why you would want to run BPQ32 or AGWPE or
XRouter if you only offer telnet services.
I use BPQ32 because I provide radio services in two ways...from radio
right here served by BPQ32 on the same machine, and remotely to
distance BPQ32 instances via AX/UDP, so that remote users out of radio
range from me can connect via radio to a local BPQ32 server and be
redirected to me. And since BPQ32 is a NET/ROM system, it makes
providing services by radio to area NET/ROM systems (TheNet X1J4 for
example) easy. It takes care of doing the routing via the most reliable
route.
In some ways I guess I am a hold out...still providing packet radio
access to a dx cluster.
