[Dxspider-support] debugging why dxspider stops not long after start - Centos 6

Just upgraded to a new VPS, WHM/Centos6, so decided I would install
DXSpider.
I used the detailed instructions found here...
http://wiki.dxcluster.org/index.php/Centos6

Did the install to the VPS, had to open up port 9418 on the firewall to
get git clone to not timeout. Otherwise no problems.

A "start dxspider" is working, returning a PID. Quickly trying to run
again, indicates that job is already running, as expected. BUT, if I
wait a few seconds, the start command generates a new PID. By the time I
start top, it is clear that the job is no longer running. Is there an
error log that I can view or some other means to debug why dxspider is
stopping?

Thanks

PS. It's been 20+ years since I was hands-on in a unix environment, so
am somewhat rusty.
